What do you know about the European Consumer Agenda? Its upadted version was published on last April 7th by the European Commission.
The report highlights 4 main areas:
1/ Improved consumer safety through the EU rapid alert system RAPEX and Product Safety Package;
2/ Improved enforcement of existing rules (sweeps, Directive on Alternative Dispute Resolution and Regulation on On-line Dispute Resolution);
3/ The adoption of new laws to safeguard the consumer interest across policy areas (e.g. telecoms, energy, transport);
4/ New consumer issues to be addressed in the years to come: many households’ difficult economic situation, the need for more effective enforcement; the digitalisation of our daily lives or the need to allow Member States with a weaker consumer culture to catch up.
