Today is the Children's day : a specific day to honor children's rights
Protection and promotion of the rights of the child is one of the objectives of the European Union. All policies and actions with an impact on children must be designed, implemented and monitored in line with the best interests of the child.
One action, very important to notice, is the International Day for Protection of Children which is observed in many countries as Children's Day on June 1 st since 1950 to honor children globally . It was first proclaimed by the World Conference for the Well-being of Children in 1925 and then established universally in 1954 to protect an "appropriate" day. Major global variants include a Universal Children's Day on November 20, by United Nations recommendation.
Another action from the EU is the creation of a website designed for children and teenager, using games, animations, videos and short articles on the Rights of the Child.
