Consumer Classroom will be part of the European Youth Forum 2014!
From next May 9th to 11th, the European Youth Forum will hold the European Youth Event 2014 in Strasbourg, France.
The European Youth Forum is the European platform of 99 youth organizations. It gathers National Youth Councils and Youth NGOs in Europe. It aims at empowering, involving and representing young Europeans in public debates. The Youth Forum brings together tens of millions of young people from all over Europe, organised in order to represent their common interest. Consumer Classroom actively supports such approach which promotes youth's rights.
Last year's celebration focused on the 25th anniversary of the first EU Youth Programme. This year, the European Youth Forum will be the youth's voice just a couple of weeks ahead of the European elections from May 22nd to 25th. For that matter, the EYE 2014 will bring together 8 000 to 10 000 young people from all over Europe to meet, exchange and debate under the theme "Ideas for a better Europe". The event will be hosted by the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
50 debates and workshops will be organized on the 5 following topics:
- Youth Unemployment. New perspectives for a blocked generation.
- Digital Revolution. The future of the Internet.
- Future of the European Union. Europe in transition.
- Sustainability. New European Lifestyle - Sustainable business and living.
- European Values. Global Player - Fair Player?
Apart from taking part in these workshops (especially the Digital Revolution workshop), Consumer Classroom will animate an interactive stand in the YO!Village outside the European Parliament. Youth's consumer rights will be promoted by the Consumer Classroom project team!
Many other street and live music activities will take place during this huge youth festival.
