While significant steps have been made in recent years for the rights of air passengers in Europe, we never hear about bus passengers. In this reportage, Jimena Gómez de la Flor, a senior communications officer with Europe Direct, will tell you about some rights you benefit from under European law. Among the rights you will find: not to be charged more because of nationality or language spoken, to be informed at any time in case of delays or cancellations. In cases when you wait for more than 2 hours for your ride and it doesn’t come, you can have a refund and even a payment for the expenses to return to your original place of departure. If you are not given this choice, later you should have a free ticket plus a 50% of the ticket cost compensation for the inconvenience.
