In this interview, Lynnsey Delaney at the European Consumer Centre Ireland, shares some advices for planning your holiday. If you book a holiday package, you get more protection than when you buy a dynamic package. The Package Holiday Directive will force a retailer to fix his faults. If you get to your destination and you don’t find the amenities that were promised or your flight gets cancelled you will benefit from a refund or readjustment of the package. Nonetheless, if you have purchased airplane tickets, hotels rooms etc. separately, and thus created a dynamic package, you will not get the same protection. In this interview you will further get an advice how to cope with problems in another EU country. Sometimes language may create barriers to demand your rights, in such cases you could call the European Consumer Centre in your home country and they will contact its counterpart in the country where you are having a problem and work to resolve the issue for you.
