The collaborative economy creates new opportunities for consumers and entrepreneurs. The Commission considers that it can therefore make an important contribution to jobs and growth in the European Union, if encouraged and developed in a responsible manner like ensuring responsible consumption and social protection.
The European Commission presented guidance aimed at supporting consumers, businesses and public authorities to engage confidently in the collaborative economy by giving recommendations to help citizens, businesses and EU countries fully benefit from the new business models.
