Consumer Classroom was glad to attend the European Youth Event 2014 held in front of the European Parliament of Strasbourg, France, on last 9th to 11th of May.
Close to 5 000 young people from 12 to 25 years old came from all over Europe to participate to debates on how to build a better Europe together.
This major event has been a great opportunity to present Consumer Classroom to youth!
Apart from the information given about the website, very fruitful discussions came up on the importance of consumer education in the day-to-day life and regarding its lack of inclusion in the Member States' curricula. Yet the European youth is clearly aware that consumerism with no knowlegde of their own rights as young consumers can be dangerous for them, for the environment and for the society.
In view of this, we decided to give the floor to young people asking them to define what actually means being "a good consumer" for them and what was Consumer Classroom's added-value.
