Global Money Week (GMW) is an international money matters awareness campaign held worldwide. Launched in 2012, it takes place annually during the 2nd week of March. It consists of a wide range of activities and events held to engage children, youth and their communities to learn how money works. These include saving, creating livelihoods, gaining employment, and becoming an entrepreneur. Activities and events are organized by schools, universities, government ministries, central banks, financial institutions, members of the civil society and communities of active youth worldwide. The purpose of GMW is to engage and connect children, youth and communities globally.
Global Money Week (GMW) is an initiative of Child & Youth Finance International (CYFI). Operating from their base in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the CYFI Secretariat anchors GMW activities worldwide, offering support and facilitating events and initiatives planned by local and international organizations, institutions, schools and activists across the world.
