Spam is sent by email, text message and other digital channels, that the recipient has not requesated. Spam is prohibited according to the Marketing Act, whether the recipients are consumers, other companies or public authorities, etc.
However, the reuest is only "spam" if it is "for Sale". i.e ii tries to sell or market a product or service, or it should increase the awareness of a particular business (also called branding).
Newsletters, an invitation to a competition or special event and similar requests will typically be regarded as spam when the recipient has not said yes to receive it.
What is not spam?
It is no spam to send a clean service announcement, for example, if an insurance company in an email informs its customers that the premimium is rising or the company has changed its address.
Market satisfaction surveys are not spam as long as they do not try to sell good or increase the knowledge about the company.
