271 editions in several languages and more than 15 million entries compiled, edited and controlled by more than 2 million contributors scattered around the world. These are the numbers of Wikipedia, the largest online encyclopedia "user generated content". But how is possible to become contributors of Wikipedia?
For this reason Wikimedia Italy has published a decologue to become perfect contributors and launched the project "Wikipedia goes to school" to train volunteers of the future. The association will organize in secondary schools across Italy courses to promote the use of Wikipedia as a knowledge and training tool, contributing actively to the process of computer literacy, and fighting the digital divide in access to technologies that still affects many schools.
"Our goal is to ancourage especially the students to join the community of Wikipedia - says Andrea Zanni, Wikimedia Italy - To promote since the younger generation the importance of the spread of a free knowledge, shared and easily accessible"
